Self-Drive Motorboats

We have a fleet of 22ft / 7m fibreglass day boats, each with an internal diesel engine giving an average speed of 8mph and wheel steering for easy handling. With a width of 8ft / 2.5m, these boats are very stable. The high sides give good protection for children inside the boat, and they are half covered for shelter. All boats have had new engines fitted over the last few years and a new pontoon was installed in 2019, partially funded by the EU Leader fund and Scottish Government

European agricultural fund for rural development

Wildlife

Out on the water you can see seals, otters, oystercatchers, gannets, merganser ducks, eider ducks, herons, cormorants, buzzards, porpoises and occasionally whales. On land look out for red deer, so bring your binoculars and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.

Fishing

Our boats are cruising vessels (not specifically fishing boats) but are popular for fishing. You may catch mackerel, wrasse, pollock, or even cod, depending on the season. We have a selection of rods for hire that are perfect for children and novices.

Scenery

The magnificent loch with its majestic surrounding hills has dramatic scenery. Cruise inland towards Lochgoilhead, or out to see Carrick Castle, a 14th century castle. Further out Loch Goil joins with Loch Long and longer trips can head up as far as Arrochar.

★★★★★

What a cracking afternoon. Dive bombing Gannets, chilling seals, and some pretty cool porpoises. Caught 3 fish that we just had for supper. And on top of all that, breath-taking scenery.
