What to See
There is no doubting the untamed beauty of the Argyll Forest Park that surrounds Loch Goil.
Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of this fjord-type sea loch with its majestic hills, as you gently motor towards Carrick Castle with its 14th century ruins. Enjoy an on-board picnic whilst spotting the range of incredibly rich wildlife both on the loch and around it – don’t forget your binoculars!
Pause to look at the seal colony (only don’t get too close) and look out for the elusive otters scrambling across the rocks and red deer grazing in the hills. Spot oyster catchers, gannets, merganser ducks, eider ducks, herons, cormorants and buzzards. And if you venture as far as the lighthouse at the junction with Loch Long, you may even be lucky enough to spot porpoises!
Please note, there is no opportunity to moor up and leave the boat for picnic-ing. On board picnics only and no disposable BBQs.
Whilst our boats are cruising vessels (not specifically fishing boats), they are popular with fishermen. Fishing can be great fun for everyone and we have a selection of simple rods that are perfect for children and novices. You might catch mackerel, wrasse, pollock, or even a cod!
